Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray, given and monitored in our office, for adults with treatment-resistant depression.
Spravato (esketamine) is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray used together with an oral antidepressant to treat treatment-resistant depression in adults. Treatment-resistant depression means depression that has not improved after trying other antidepressant medications.
Spravato is given in our office rather than at home. After each treatment you stay with us and are monitored, for two hours at a minimum, as required by the medication's safety program.
Because of the monitoring, a Spravato visit takes up a good part of the day. Plan on the treatment plus two hours or more with us afterward. Your provider can tell you how long your own visits are likely to run, and will go over what else to expect before your first treatment.
Whether Spravato is a reasonable option for you is something we decide together: your provider goes over your history and the treatments you have already tried, then talks it through with you.

Plan on a good part of the day. The treatment itself is short, and afterward you stay with us and are monitored for two hours at a minimum. Ask your provider how long to plan on for your own visits.
