Psychiatric Care in Export, PA

Ongoing care for mental health: evaluation, diagnosis, medication when it is called for, and visits long enough to talk through how you are doing.

Psychiatric care at Tranquil Tides Psychiatry is ongoing outpatient care for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. It starts with an evaluation, and it continues for as long as you want to keep working with us.

Your first visit is a conversation. We ask about your history, what you have tried before, what helped, and what did not. If parts of that are hard to talk about, you can say so, and we work at a pace that feels safe to you. From there your provider talks with you about what is going on and what the options are.

Medication is part of that care when it is called for: starting something, adjusting a dose, switching, or stopping one that is not helping. It is not the whole of it. Visits are long enough to talk about sleep, stress, work, family, and everything else that shapes how you are doing, and to make a plan together.

Follow-up visits look at how things are going, what side effects you are noticing, and what needs to change. Many patients are seen more often at the start and less often once things settle.

Late-afternoon appointments are offered for psychiatric care visits. Visits take place at the office in Export.

Psychiatric Care: common questions

Do I need a referral to be seen?

Some plans ask for a referral first, so it is worth a quick call to your plan before your first visit.

What should I bring to my first visit?

A photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and a note of the medications you are taking now. Records from a previous prescriber are helpful if you can get them, though we can start without them.

Is psychiatric care here only about medication?

Medication is one part of it. Your provider talks with you about what is going on in your life, how you are sleeping and coping, and what is helping, and medication is one option among those conversations. If you need therapy or counseling, we will point you toward the right professional.

Will I have to change the medication I am on now?

Not necessarily. If something is working, the plan may be to keep it and keep an eye on it. Any change is a decision you make together with your provider.

Can I be seen late in the day?

Late-afternoon appointments are offered. Send a message through the contact form and we will find a time that works.
